Dateline June 1998-- Intusoft announced this month...
Intusoft releases free software utilities and useful downloads to its web site (http://www.intusoft.com). Among the items released are a Units Converster/Calculator and an IBIS-to-SPICE converter. The software is provided at no charge and joins a variety of other free SPICE related items (SPICE evaluation versions, models, technical articles, and application notes) available from Intusoft's web site.
The Units Calculator is a novel program that converts between various types of quantities, i.e. distance (inch, foot, yard, mile, meters), energy (erg, joule, ft-pound), force ( dyne, newton, pounds), pressure (millibar, bar, pascal, mm, Hg). It also allows the user to evaluate sequences of mathematical expressions. The Units Converter is programmable; users may add their own unit conversions and constant. The calculator supports trigonimetric, transcendental, and many common math operations.
The IBIS-to-SPICE converter converts IBIS (I/O Buffer Information Specification) data sheet information into SPICE models and supports IBIS version 1.1,2.1, and 3.0. The tool is extensible and allows various SPICE model syntax variations and topologies to be programmed by the user. The IBIS converter reads and parses the IBIS data sheet and extracts teh appropriate information (data tables, pin parasitcs, package parasitcs, etc). The extracted data is then merged into a model template file resulting in a subcircuit that the SPICE program can simulate. The default model template provided is for Intusoft's IsSpice4 syntax. Other templates can be sonstructed for other simulators in order to accommodate the variety of behavioral SPICE syntax used by different SPICE programs. The program generates models for the multiple pins and signals that may be included in a single IBIS data sheet in one pass. It also can extract typical, best or worse case models.
Established in 1985, Intusoft designs, develops, and markets software applications and tools for analog and mixed-signal circuit design, analysis and test automation to electronics industries worldwide.
