Designed specifically for power supply designers, Power Supply Designer not only meets the needs of power electronics designers for accurate, high-performance simulations, but also includes a selected model portfolio specific to their industry requirements. Power Supply Designer integrates Intusofts schematic technology for design creation and graphical waveform analysis with the proven IsSpice4 analog and mixed-signal simulator and the powerful Magnetics Designer transformer and inductor synthesis tool.
Power Supply Designer includes the latest Power Designer Library, which incorporates many hyperaccurate cycle-by-cycle PWM and transformer simulation models for power electronic designs. The PSD Library also includes accurate power semiconductor models and "averaged" models for leading power converter design topologies. These models enable designers to simulate 100x faster in the early design process phase, when evaluating alternative design topologies and compensation. The Magnetics Designer component of the package enable designers to model and analyze virtually any layer or sector wound transformer design.

Power Supply Designer features ICAP/4Windows,

Supply Designers SPICE model library. The IsSpice4 Mixed-Signal
Simulator provides analysis of the complete behavior of analog
and mixed-signal systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic
and other technology subsystems, and their interactions. It includes
DC, AC, transient, noise, distortion, Fourier, Monte Carlo, pole-zero
and sensitivity analyses. It also features advanced analyses not
commonly found in other SPICE programs such as failure, RSS, EVA,
Transient worst case, and stress alarms monitoring. SpiceNet provides
a design creation and editing environment that can handle complex
electrical designs as well as mixed-technology designs. SpiceNet
is also a design debug environment. Once a design has been simulated,
waveforms representing the results are automatically available
for display DIRECTLY on the schematic. IntuScope is a graphical
waveform analyzer that gives you unparalleled flexibility to view
and analyze simulation waveforms. Numerous charts, histograms
and probability plots are available along with a comprehensive
set of over 50 measurements, including duty cycle, gain margin,
and other vital power design measurements.
The Power Supply Designers Library includes a library of over 13,000 models chosen specifically for power designers. This library of power-related devices includes PWM ICs, IGBTs, power MOSFETs and transformers. It allows you to evaluate how different types of components will perform before you select a specific part. the model youre using doesnt exhibit the behaviors
that can cause problems in a power design, it wont meet
your needs. Power Supply Designer gives you access to highly accurate
models developed by the Magnetics Designer module.
Intusoft has spent years developing accurate and robust models for the components that are used in power designs. The XSPICE mixed-signal hardware description language in IsSpice4 allows true behavioral modeling, not just the macromodeling used in Spice-based simulators.
Using the special Design Validation feature and its Stress Alarms, you can evaluate operating stress on circuit components using any user-defined test criteria. You can easily specify component tolerances and perform Monte Carlo analysis as well as many other statistical measurements. This gives you crucial information about the yield your design will achieve in production.
Top-Down Design
One of the hallmarks of power converter designs is long simulation
run times. Early in the design process when designing compensation
circuitry, for example designers often wish to analyze the complete
design quickly at a high level. With other simulators, designers
can only simulate at a detailed level, making iterative design
more time-consuming. To enable top-down design, Intusoft has a
set of "averaged models" that embed the PWM, transformer
and other circuitry into a linearized form with duty cycle as
the "input" to the model. These averaged models are
particularly useful for power designers.
